The organization is operated completely by volunteers dedicating countless hundreds of hours to ensure the reunions are planned and executed flawlessly every two years along with publishing the triannual newsletter magazine and operating the website. The POP A SMOKE website has many important features, including a comprehensive KIA database with complete search engines and a place to leave your personnel reflections and information, along with an excellent email mailing list sorted both alphabetically and by unit making it easy to find and contact long lost friends, All members are mailed an impressive triannual newsletter full of interesting history and information. The Visions section hold thousands of photos listed in over 100 categories to help you revisit your memories and enabling you to post your photos with your own comments. The NOTAM BOARD is an excellent communication tool for those members interested in subjects connected to MARINES, HELICOPTERS/TILT ROTOR or COMBAT. These are just a few highlights of the many benefits to membership our fine organization. We encourage EVERYONE eligible for membership or associate membership to join and participate.
"FNG" JOIN-UP/RE-UP INFORMATIONIf you are a former Marine helicopter or tilt-rotor pilot, crew chief, gunner, corpsman, flight surgeon, chaplain, maintenance or Marine helicopter/tilt-rotor squadron support personnel who served in Combat, please fill out the below following name and address information (FNG Form). We will then forward an 'FNG' Join-Up/Re-Up Package (or you can print your own). After we receive your dues (via personal check or PayPal) and your information sheet (via e-mail or snail mail), you will receive the latest issue (and occasionally some back issues) of POPASMOKE, our magazine of the Association. You will also receive miscellaneous information including plans for future reunions. FNG's, if you desire to receive the latest ASSOCIATION DIRECTORY (printed approx February of each year), send a note to admin@popasmoke.com stating in the Subject Line of the e-mail "Directory Request". Include your full name and current address in the message. Directories will be sent as long as the supply lasts. We do not charge FNG's for the 1st Directory, although it costs the Association approximately $10 to print and send. Any additional contributions will be gratefully accepted by Popasmoke Admin. You have a choice of ANNUAL Membership ($35 (1 year) or $65 (2 year)), or LIFER Membership. ANNUAL Membership cost may increase as necessary to cover Association expenses. Once you buy a LIFER membership, you are locked in until the last two Marines drink the last sip of whiskey from the Association Tontine as a toast to all the rest of us. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP (full membership rights but not Combat vet or relative of deceased Marine or Navy Combat vet) For those interested in our organization, but do not qualify for "Regular Membership", we offer an Associate Membership. If you are interested in receiving our newsletter and being kept abreast of upcoming reunion activities please fill out the "FNG" form below. In the comments section, state "I would like to be put on the Associate Member List." You will receive a Membership Packet which you can fill out. Send this in, along with a check for $35 (1 year) or $65 (2 year), and you will receive the above publications. If you would like to be aligned with a specific squadron, write that squadron in the Primary Squadron block of the application. ACTIVE DUTY (Full membership rights under either Regular or associate membership whichever applies)For those currently on active duty we offer a limited free membership. Currently "free membership" is available from sign up date thru 10 November 2010. DIRECTORY UPDATE / CORRECTIONS (FOR CURRENT MEMBERS ONLY) For those members with corrections to their membership data, please complete the "Mailing List Correction" form.

Example: If you are 30 years old on 10 Nov of this year, your LIFER dues would be $500. If you are 29 (on 10 Nov), your dues would be $600.
