FMAW 250118Z Jul68 gives details.
Anyone remember this?
I remember seeing an automatic 40mm grenade launcher that was magazine fed being evaluated at HML-167 at MMAF. I think that it was in the spring of 1970. It looked like a great idea except the magazine only held 6-10 rounds
Yes George...I do remember having that big son of a gun locked down on the floor boards on the gunner's side. It not only did not work real well at that time, but it almost pulled itself out of the floor...
Speaking of remembering, who was the armorer who designed the "twin mg mount"? That worked a heck of alot better but was tough on ammo...
I would love to have fired this one!

Mk 19 Mod 3 40mm machinegun. The only apparent difference from the Mk 19 Mod 0 is the
addition of the flash suppressor to the Mod 3 barrel. Internal components are different and parts
are not interchangeable. The Mk 19 Mod 3 is now in use by all branches of the US Military.

Wow! Me too. It sure does not look like the one that I remember. But at my age a lot of things don't look like I remember. :)
