What was the side number for YL 145782

That's HMM-362. The date was April 15, 1962 & the Bureau Number was 145782.

we are trying to determine the side number (YL-??) of the a/c in April of 1962 . Any help would be appreciated.

What happened/happens to all the records that squadrons keep on maintenance, and in admin? Are not all the old records somewhere or do they get purged after so many years?

Many of these records are around, however most official records ( Aircraft Log Books and Pilot Flight Logs) refer to the BuNo of the Aircraft. The Side numbers are around , but we will need a photo or some other more unofficial record to be accurate on this side number.

I did hundreds of hours of research to get the side numbers matched up to the BuNo for HMM-363s UH-34Ds for 67 & 68., they are located here on the NOTAM at

I am hoping someone has these types of records for HMM-362 for 1962.
