Gentlemen!
To procure the CDs from the Marine Corps Historical div you can use this FAX number. They cost nothing. It is two CDs that have the squadron's after flight reports for each month. As I understand it, these reports were filled out ( up to the flight commander ) during a support misson(s) of an operation. The 21 July to 31 July isn't on there. I guess because of the attack at Dong Ha. ???
They are CDs numbers 98 & 99
On your FAX sheet ask for " Unit File" : HMM-361
give dates ( Jan 67- Feb 68). ( The dates ,I believe, run from 66-68 on these CDs)
exp:
TO: USMC Historical Div.
FAX # : 202-433-7265
Date: ( todays date)
Phone #: ( Yours)
Message: I would like the following information.
Subject UNIT FILE . HMM-361
While in country of Republic of South Vietnam Jan67-Feb68.
Flight logs. Pls send to. ( your home address here)
I used a mail/print store and it run about $2.00 for the FAX.
This cuts down in a LOT of time. I got mine back within a week.
The CDs are not easy to get a print off of them. I had to use a print shop software to copy the report(s) off of.
They make great reading and are a must if you have any dealings with VA about your personal flight(s) with 361.
Now, I wonder where I can get some reports about July 24,67?
