View Full Version : Pless / MOH/ Any infor on the '64 - '65 timeframe?

Thanks for the quick reply. Capt. (Maj.) Pless was in VMO-6
when he got the MOH in '67. PRIOR to knowing him at Pensacola in AUG '65 he had previously been in Viet Nam. I understood that it was with a H-34 squadron then.

Any infor on the '64 - '65 timeframe?

According to the HQMC bio http://hqinet001.hqmc.usmc.mil/HD/Historical/Whos_Who/Pless_SW.htm
he was assigned to HMM-162 (1962/63) and served in Thailand and Vietnam. He was at Pensacola from 1963 to 1966.

hmla 1369 was correct. Lt Pless was in Thailand and Vietnam in 62/63 with HMM 162 a 34 squadron. He was also at Pensacola in 65/66 for sure. I was a recruiter in Mobile, Ala. I was on recruiting duty in 65/66 and he used to come to Mobile to see me.
He was also in HMM 264 with me in 59/60 and went to Africa with me on Solant Amity in 60/61 time frame. He was a number one guy and a darn good pilot.
