General Krulak observed that by September 1967 the Marines at Dong Ha, Camp Carroll, Gio Linh, Khe Sanh, and Quang Tri had suffered nearly 956 KIAs and over 4,000 wounded in the DMZ alone.

Was it that bad along the DMZ in 1967? It sure was. It wasn't so good after September 1967, either.

Anywhere along the North - South Trace or the East - West Trace and the areas they encompassed was high on the pucker factor scale.
