I don't know what makes a person join the Marine Corps.
I had my reasons and have never questioned others.
What I do know is if one completes the rigors of the Corps no matter when, he has joined a Brotherhood that is bound by blood, sweat, tears, love and sacrifice.
Land, sea and air, we have always been Semper Fidelis. A nation can ask no more of their fighting men. And fighting men we are. For some reason, the Corps attracts the very best that America has to offer. It's always been that way and it will continue.
We, as brother Marines, have created something almost mystical.
I still fall back in the hard times upon the values, sense of pride and discipline that was instilled in me.
No matter what rank or M.O.S., remember we were a grunt at heart. When things really go to hell, it's your brothers you depend on.
To each and everyone of you brave souls who are laying "all" on the line for us in these terrible times, I salute you. And to all that have, and the ones who shall.
