BAGHDAD — Two U.S. Marines were killed in separate attacks west of Baghdad, the U.S. military said Tuesday.
One of the Marines was killed in action Monday, while the other died of injuries sustained in an earlier attack, the military said in a statement. No further details were provided.
The two belonged to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, which is based outside the rebel-held city of Fallujah.
The names of the dead were withheld pending family notification.
