I am the 2006 Memorial Committee Chairman for the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Assn. www.avvba.org Each year for the past 19 years we have erected a Memorial to a fallen Atlanta VN vet, and this year we have the honor of erecting one for Major William H. Seward, HMM-165 kia 03Mar 68. We are attempting to find his C.O. at that time, a LtCol. Richard E. Romine.
We would like any and all former membrs of HMM-165 to be here for the ceremony on Thursday, 25 May 06 at 11:00 hours. It lasts about an hour, and we have a dinner the night before for the family and honored guests, and a reception afterwards for everyone. Please help us locate his former C.O. and anyone from the squadron that served with Major Seward.
We would love to issue them a formal invitation and have them attend. Check out our webb site and you will see that this is a first class affair.
This year we are looking forward to Gen. Al Gray [29th Commandant], and Sen. Zell Miller [former Sgt.] to be speakers. We have MAG 42 participating with the Color Guard, Honor Guard and fly over; the ATL recruiting station with the Bell Ringer and Flag Folding detail; as well as the Marine Band from Albany, GA. This will be an all Marine function and one of the best we have ever had! Let me know who to send a video to for the squadron's archives? Thank you all for any help you can give us. I remain,
Semper Fi,
