What ever happened to

I was stationed across the field from HMM-165 in H&MS-16, Oct 68 to Feb 70. I flew some with 165 as a gunner and have been looking for a guy named Dan Delude, he used to call everybody “you sad bastard”. I knew him from a unit in New River when we went on a Crib Cruise, then latter at Marble Mt. It's hard to recall names anymore but this guy you would never forget.

I flew several times with Delude in HMM-264 when he was crewing EH-100 in HMM-264 at New River. He was one in a million and always an interesting character. More than once, we would land and I would learn of his doings in the cabin while my copilot and I had no idea of what he had been up to with the passengers. Nothing nefarious but always with a punch line.

Cpl Delude knew his job and did it well with elegance. I always enjoyed flying his bird and could have complete confidence in his abilities as a crew chief. I hope you are successful in locating him.
