Son of a Klondike

Gentlemen, my stepfather was with y'all in VMO-6 in Vietnam. I was just curious if anybody might remember him. The VMO-6 Cruise Book ('66) ranks him as a SSgt, he retired from active duty in 1970 as a Gunny.
My Dad would have probably been one of the older guys in the unit, he joined the Corps in 1951 during Korea, and I think he worked on Hueys.
He was always proud to be a Marine, but he spoke of Vietnam in detail very rarely. I'm just hoping to get a little perspective on what life (and death) was like over there. Sadly, he passed away in 1992.
Thanks for any info you guys can offer, hope to hear from some of you!
Dennis
