Major Will Chesarek USMC, an exchange pilot with the Royal Navy, will be
awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross by Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace on 21 March 2007 for services while acting as aircraft commander, flying a Lynx AH7 helicopter while attached to 847 Squadron RN, Basrah, Iraq on the night of 10/11 June 2006.
Major Chesarek had been a squadron member of HMLA-267 at MCAS Camp Pendleton prior to his assignment as an exchange pilot with the Royal Navy.
