Gentlemen,
Today I received a letter from Shirley Kunkel of Tustin California. She stated that her husband, Henry L Kunkel had passed away April 19th, 2005.

She said that he had received 100% service connected benefits from the VA as he had gotten cancer from his contact with Agent Orange.

She mentioned that she had planned to make this DC reunion but things have come up and she will have to forgo the reunion for this year. She hopes to see her friends at the next one.

She mentioned that as part of a memorial for her husband there is a brick at the Marine Corps Heritage Museum with the message “Hover and Go Fly” and Henry L. Kunkel. There is also a Memorial Guest book on line at www.Legacey.com compliments of the Orange County Register newspaper. Anyone who knew him is welcomed and encouraged to make an entry in the book. If you have a problem with making the entry you can contact her at Kunkelhs@earthlink.net. Funny entries are welcome as Henry had a great sense of humor and practiced it for many years with the Toastmaster’s Club after his retirement from the Corps in 1979.

She also stated that she wishes you all well and looks forward to hearing from anyone who was a friend of Henry’s.

It was sighed: Shirley, Susan, Amy, Jonathan, Micah, Tracey, Stephanie, Melissa, Dennis and Steve.
