View Full Version : 2010 - Reno
After an intense review of possible reunion sites, to include various locations recommended by the membership, the 2010 reunion is scheduled to be held at the Grand Sierra Resort, Reno, Nevada 7-11 July.
A number of factors were taken into consideration to include, but not limited to: ability to place the attendees within the same hotel; cost; availability of hospitality suites (hootches) without restrictions; quality of rooms; and amenities offered by the hotel.
The Grand Sierra met or exceeded all prerequisites.
Additional info will be provided as planning progresses.

Thank you for giving the membership a lot of time to prepare for the next reunion. Even though I personally would have preferred Seattle I think that the general membership will be well served in your choice of Reno.
We will get the word out to all members of HMM-365 Vietnam. We will be there.

for a variety of reasons reservations won't be open until after Jan 2010- at least at the room rate we've negotiated.

Checked with our squadron point man in Reno, NV; Robert Darling, he told me the Grand Sierra Resort is the new name of the Reno Hilton same place we held 2004 Reunion. Had a great time there in 2004.

The Pop A Smoke leadership was spot on. I polled the HMH-463 bunch and of those who answered Reno was 2 to 1 the favorite.

There be a bunch of Phrog critters running around here. The more the merrier!!
Hope this is the right area. Question: Are there plans to have a silent
auction again this time. If so, now is the time to start rounding up the ole
goodies and get em ready. I contributed to Reno and Ft Worth. Have found more goodies for this time. Looking forward to this one. I am going to Reno in 3 or 4 weeks and will be staying at the Grand Sierra.

Great choice! I will be there.
I just returned from a 10 day extended stay in Reno Grand Sierra. Hotel seems friendlier than it was in 2004. My friends and I utilized one of their services. You can arrange ATV rental thru them and they provide transport to the mountains and you have all day running the trail around the Lake Tahoe area. A lot of new construction in town. Traffic was not a problem. I had driven from Ft Worth Tx to Oregon and down thru the area. If you like scenery and have the time ry US highway 50 back thru Ely Nevada to I-15 in Utah.
John,
thanks for the update on the GSR

Need someone to get in touch with the hotel and get this straight. ( whoever Neg. the rates for the reunion).
Sams phone # is 775-789-2147.

Latest newsletter was put in the mail this past week. Included in the newsletter are two flyers with reunion and hotel reservation info.
As the newsletter is sent only to those with current "paid up" membership, a separate mailing was sent to those who let their membership lapse in 08 and 09. It also contains reunion and hotel registration info.
Later this month the info will also be posted on the website.

:) Slick that's a good feeling to know I'm still current with membership. Thanks for checking in on it for me, one less thing I have to keep reminding myself to do. Sometimes those thoughts get all mix up and you don't know which end is up or what to do first. Ever get that way ? :o

Slick thanks for the feed back for the Reunion Dates. just try to post another post and it didn't take so I'm trying it this way.
The pre-post approval requirement removed for all threads, howver there are at least two threads where we're having system troubles to get it to take. This is one of them. Wally is trying to get it fixed.
Until then it may take a little time before it shows.

They will be listed in the next newsletter coming out shortly. Tell William that I do not have a coordinator for 369. The e-mail, phone and other info for the guy that did DC is no longer valid and no one has stepped up to fill the void.
