MONTEREY - Richard Jerome Jasmine "Jazz", 62, passed away peacefully February 1, 2009 at the San Francisco VA Hospital.
He was born February 22, 1946 in Maringouin, Louisiana to Beulah and Junior Jasmine. His family moved to Seaside, CA where he graduated from Junipero High School in 1963. Shortly thereafter he joined the Marines where he was a Captain and a helicopter pilot. He was a visionary and an innovative man who worked with various technology companies.
He is survived by his mother, Beulah Jasmine; three children, Benjamin Jasmine, Belinda Jasmine-Arthur and Brenaman Jasmine; and a sister, Irma Johnson. Richard was predeceased by his father, Junior Jasmine and two sisters, Patsie Jasmine and Peggy Jasmine-Middlebrooks.
A memorial service will be held this Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 523 Ramona Avenue, Monterey, CA 93940.
