Capt David T. Gooden was my father. He was KIA Korea, Feb 1952, while flying with VMO-6. Any information would be most appreciated.

Captain David Theodore Gooden, USMC, VMO-6 was sadly killed on the 7th of February 1952 while flying HTL-4 BuNo 128898. Location given as Kudong, Korea.

Aircraft was nearing forward Evac pickup site. Site was occupied by another helicopter. Pulled aircraft over ridge and into enemy territory. Aircraft was hit by explosive shell. Mid air expolosion seen. Aircraft crashed and burnt.

mgooden, I'm Glad your Father was able to do what he loved. It is very sad that a larger Med-evac zone for several Birds, could not have been built in time for your Father to land in. That happened many times in Vietnam, and it can not always be helped. There should still be a number of Marines that knew your Father out there. It could be they just haven't seen this request. Hope you do have some Korean U.S.Marine message you having known your Father. Keep trying. Your Father was in the beginning of a valuable tool for the wounded, and others in all the wars from Korea forward. I Salute Him, and all the other Flyiers, and the Crews. SIDSIKO, thank you for researching the info of Date, and the BU# of the Helicopter Capt. Gooden was Flying. S/F, and READY-APP.
