It's time to start a HMM/VMM -263 recruitment campaign. I want to encourage every HMM/VMM-263 Marine to start recruiting your buddies to join POPASMOKE. I especially want to encourage the new VMM-263 Pilots, crew chiefs, gunners, and Corpsmen to join so they will carry on our tradition.
I was told by a few of the VMM-263 Marines that they thought their trip to Reno was going to be boring because they would be hanging around us old farts. They were totally surprised with our brotherhood and stories from some 44 years now. To sum it up they were very impressed with the old farts camaraderie and love for each other.
