    Good job!
Even though you weren't there, you gave thanks to those that were, and believe me, that's better than most of us got when we returned back then!
Thank YOU for your effort on our behalf!

    Video Tribute

    I agree with Joe.

Now, how about the rest of us, the H-46 and the H-53 communities. I call the H-46 the "Cinderella Bird". I'm still waiting for the invitation to the ball. Take a look at: http://www.airsceneuk.org.uk/oldstuff/h46/h46.htm

To repeat what Joe said, don't worry about your age, in fact it may be an advantage. All of us are captives of our own experiences which vary by age, rank, unit size and when in the war we served. You stand a better chance of seeing the overall picture.

    Regards and Semper Fi

    Thumbs up Dulligan's article

    John,
Glad you agree. Even better, glad you put MY BIRD on the front! YW-11 never looked better, at least not as an "Alpha". Great stuff you wrote there. Wish I could remember you flying gunner for us. CRS disease affects us all sooner or later.

    YW11

    Joe:

Do you have a picture of YW11.

The lead picture in the article was taken by Tom Mix but I'm sure he wouldn't object if I made you a copy. I can go up to 13X19 ins without any problem. He also took the picture of the recon extraction, the best picture in the article. I showed it to a Photo Editor and he taped it to his office wall as an example of a picture that needed no caption.

    All the rest are mine.

    John,
A 13 X 9 of YW-11 would be a great addition to my office wall! Please let me know what I owe you for it!
    Thank you, Sir!!

    Recon Extract

This picture, taken by Tom Mix (HMM-165, 1967), is one of the best pictures of any subject I have seen, not just Vietnam. It shows a recon team being extracted. But there is no need to explain, the picture tells it all. It's an emergency, otherwise why are the troops running hard. There is the suggestion at least of contact, the 2 Marines on the dyke, facing the rear are at in a position to fire. The far figure looks to be firing.

All good photographers try hard to take pictures like this but we don't often take them this good. I sure wish I had taken it.

    Grover's Video

If you haven't taken a look at Grover's web site you must do so immediately. It is fantastic. Now we have to convince him that he has to do a simulation of a Phrog carrying out a 'Buttonhook' approach starting by switching into Hover Aft
