Dear Brook/John,
I hope this message reaches both of or one of you, and you are able to contact me back.
My dad, Larry Sullivan, passed away 2 1/2 weeks ago, and I wanted to let you know how pleased I was to see that his name has already been mentioned in your \"obituary\" section of the HMM-363 site.
I have been negligent at work today, only because I have been looking through this website and wanted to express to you how wonderful it has been to look through the different messages that have been posted, and really get a feel for the sense of brotherhood my dad was so proud to be a part of.
Although we understood why he didn\'t talk much about Viet Nam, he was still always very proud to have fought for his country and certainly proud to be a Marine. Myself and my brother and sisters, always have been and continue to be proud of him.
I was wondering if anyone might be able to share any interesting, if not funny stories about my dad, if that\'s even possible. I would love to know more about him and I think it might even help my grieving, as I don\'t believe I\'ve entered the \"grieving phase\" yet. I\'m in denial still, and it feels as though we\'re just waiting for him to come home from work.
I miss him dearly and hope that this isn\'t a whole bunch to ask. I\'m not sure that either one of you knew him very well, but perhaps someone out there does and wouldn\'t mind dropping me a few lines. I would love to share some of your memories of him with my brother and my sisters, again, if only possible.
Thanks so much for listening and I hope you all are well.
Very truly yours,
Gina (Sullivan) Plichta
