Today I received a phone call from the stepson of M/Sgt. Ben R. Harris- Retired. Ben passed away on March 17th (last month). Ben was one of the pioneers of helicopter Maintenance and he served in several helicopter squadrons, including HMX-1, HMR 161, VMO-6 and he was also in helicopters in New River, NC. had a stroke which contributed to his death. He was 85 years of age.
