It looks as if HMLA-367 will be the first HMLA to fly into combat with the
UH-1Y. The old Huey lives on thank to some new technology and a small face lift from Bell Helicopter. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the aircraft, even though she hasnt gotten quite as much attention as our tilt-rotor cousin. We will be moving up to a VNE around 170 KIAS, Max gross weight 18,500 lbs, Powered by two GE T-700's. The fuselage has been stretched by 18 inches and she will bang along at 135 KIAS with doors guns and two 19 shot rocket pods.
