I am sad to report the passing of LTCOL. Larry Whelan. I have no other details other than he requested no services of any kind. He had been hospitalized with pneumonia and lost the battle. I believe Larry was 80 years Old. He resided in Laguna Niguel, CA.

Larry was C.O. of HMM-265 at Marble in '67 and '68. He later served at MCAF Santa Ana as the Executive Officer of both the Group and the Station respectively. A Good Marine and will be missed by all with whom he served. A fine Combat Marine.
