Need info on flight controls of Ch-53 Sea Stallioin first issue 1966-67

I am a writer and am writing a novel that takes place partially in late 1966 and early 1967 in Dak To, Central Highlands, Vietnam. One scene involves an emergency landing in a new Marine CH-53 from the pilot's point of view. I am not a CH-53 pilot or crew member.
(be gentle, I'm fixed wing only) Any information on the Cyclic and collective anyone can give will be greatly appreciated. What funtions are located on the cyclic grip-head. Location of collective? Can the governor be overridden in an emergency? (I'm assuming that a twin-turbo chopper would have a governor) Where are/is the throttles located?

Also any idiosyncrasies and pet likes or dislikes about control response, throttle response, instrument placement, etc. would be appreciated.

If you would like to take a minute and answer any or all of the above, I'll thank you in advance and look forward to reading your response.

Not being a pilot, but instead being an Avionics tech .....

The cyclic and collective sticks each contained their own sets of electrical
    switches.

On the cyclic were; a trigger for communication; 1st click ICS and 2nd click
radio transmit, a couple of coolie hat trim switches and some spotlight control
switches. Also an emergency hook release switch.

On the collective were a couple of AFCS (automatic flight control system) activation
    switches.

The collective stick is located to the left of the seats. The cyclic between the pilot's legs
in front of the seat. The rudder pedals were on the floor ahead of the seats.

The two throttles were on the cockpit ceiling in an overhead throttle quadrant
between the pilot & copilot seats at the center of the overhead.

//Thanks Mike. This helps and gets me a step further. I have pictures of the cockpit, but I don't want to assume anything//
