Follow these instructions for setting up your new popasmoke.com e-mail address. E-mail your questions to webmaster.
Once you have been given your new e-mail account information, there are two ways you can access your new POPASMOKE e-mail account.

To configure your E-mail simply select the E-mail
client you are using from below and follow the instructions.

- Open Outlook Express
- Open the Tools menu and select Accounts.
- Select the Mail tab at the top of the window.
Click Properties and enter your account details.
To add a new account select Add. Add will give
you 3 options: Mail, News and Directory
Service. Select Mail.
- Enter a Display Name. This name will appear
as the full name of the person who owns the e-mail.
Select Next.
- Enter your E-mail address: username@popasmoke.com.
Select Next.
- Enter your Mail Server Address
incoming = mail.popasmoke.com
outgoing = mail.popasmoke.com or check with your ISP
Select Next.
- Check the Log on Using option. Enter your
username and password. Select Next.
- Enter a Friendly name. This is the name that
Outlook Express uses to describe the account. Select
Next.
- Select connection type:
- Connect using my phone line. This is
the setting to enable the mail program to dial
the modem connection and then do the mail. If
you have multiple accounts you may wish to disable
this, as it will disconnect the connection to
load each account
- Connect using a LAN. This will connect
to the mail server via a Network and needs to
have the network established before it can collect
mail. This is preferred when you have multiple
accounts, as you will establish a network connection
with your modem before you load your mail program
and once loaded you can then download multiple
accounts.
- Connect Manually is not needed.
- Connect using a phone line will ask to select
the Dialup Connection you wish to use.
- Select Finish.
- The new account is now configured.

When you open Microsoft Outlook for the first time
you will get a welcome message screen. Choose Set
up an e-mail service, then follow these steps.
- Select Tools from the menu options at the
top of your screen then select Services.
- You must have Internet Mail installed in
this window. If you do not find Internet Mail
listed under Services then you will have to
add it. Select Add then Click on Internet
Mail. This will open the properties of Internet
Mail automatically. If you already have Internet
Mail service installed then just select Properties.
- Assign the Mail Account a name.
- Fill in the Name and Organization.
- Enter your Email Address Eg.username@popasmoke.com
- Enter your e-mail address as your Reply Address.
- Select the Server tag at the top of the window.
- Enter the Incoming and Outgoing mail
servers.
Incoming server should be set to mail.popasmoke.com.
Outgoing server should be mail.popasmoke.com or set accroding to your ISP.
- Check Logon Using then enter your username
and password.
- Select the Connection tab at the top of the
window.
- Select Modem connection. This will be the
VLA connection that you have configured under Dialup
Networking.
- Once finished Click Apply and then OK.
Exit your mail program through the option exit
and log off which is found under Files
on the main menu.
- When you re-enter Microsoft Outlook you will be
ready to do e-mail.

Navigator Mail Configuration
When you open Netscape Messenger for the first time
a New Profile Setup will be initiated. Enter
the following details:
- Enter Your Name or the name you wish to be
displayed in the e-mail message. Your e-mail address
will be your username in the following layout:
username@popasmoke.com
- Select Next.
- EnterProfile. The profile is the name with
which you use to define which e-mail account is currently
operative. Use the default supplied.
- Select Next.
- Confirm the name you wish to use and that your e-mail
address is set correctly. Enter the SMTP server
or Outgoing Mail server.
This should be mail.popasmoke.com or set according to your ISP
- Select Next.
- Enter your username as the Mail server
username. Enter the Incoming Mail server. This
will be mail.popasmoke.com. The incoming
mail server is a POP3 Server.
- Select Next.
- Leave the News (NNTP) Server blank.
- Select Finish.

Mail Configuration (Netscape V.4 and Above)
- Open Netscape.
- Go to Edit and then Preferences.
- Under Categories you will see Mail and
Groups option. Expand it out by Highlighting it
and pressing on the Plus button on the number pad
or clicking on the + with the left mouse button
- Select Identity. Fill in Your Name
and Email address. Your e-mail address will
be username@popasmoke.com.
- Select Mail server. Fill in Mail server
username with your Username. Set the incoming
mail server to mail.popasmoke.com.
The mail server type is POP3.
- Select OK and you are finished.

Exchange |

Both Internet Mail and Microsoft Exchange use the exact
same setup wizard. We have combined them here under the
one Setup for ease of reference. Use the following steps
to configure your Internet mail via the Inbox Setup Wizard.
You should have your username & password
with you, as well as other Setup Configuration details
you require.
- Select Run Internet Mail/Microsoft Exchange for
the first time.
- Select NO to having used Internet Mail/Microsoft
Exchange before and then click on Next.
- You will be asked to choose what information
services you wish to use. Select only Internet
Mail and then select Next.
- Select Use dialup networking to gain connection
to Internet Mail. Then choose Next.
- You will then be asked what mode of transferring
messages to use. You may use either. We suggest Automatic,
so that when you do connect and open Microsoft Exchange
it will download and deliver mail automatically.
- Enter your Email Address and your Name.
- Enter your username and password for
your Mailbox Name and Password.
- Select No to automatically run Internet
Mail/Microsoft Exchange when you start Windows 95
unless you wish the program to dial and collect mail
each time you turn on the computer.
- When finished select the Finish option and
then restart your computer.

- Choose whether you wish to make Eudora the default
e-mail program. This means, if a program or browser
needs to load an e-mail program it will automatically
load Eudora Light.
- To access these options on a currently running Eudora
Light select Tools and then Options.
- Select Getting Started from the icons. Enter
in the right column your PoP3 Account. The format
is username@popasmoke.com
and the incoming mail server is mail.popasmoke.com.
For the outgoing pop3 server name, mail.popasmoke.com or check with your ISP.
- Enter in your Real Name and Return Address.
Your return address is your e-mail address. Winsock
will already be selected as the default connection.
- Select the Personal Info icon from the left
column and enter your Dialup Username. This
is your normal username.
- Select the Hosts icon from the left column.
Enter the SMTP (Outgoing) mail server you have been
supplied with and the phone number for your connection
in the right hand options list.
- Select the Checking Mail icon from the left
column. Check Save password. After the first
time you collect your mail and enter a password it
will save it for future reference.
- Select the Sending Mail icon from the left
column. Enter popasmoke.com in the right
column as the Domain to add to unqualified addresses.
- Once you have set these settings select OK
and close Eudora. Re-open Eudora and you will be ready
to e-mail.
