One of these CH-54s crashed in the ammo dump at Phu Bai during spring of 1968. I saw it happen while riding on top a duce and a half, south bound on Highway 1. It was hovering about a hundred feet over the ammo with a load slung under neath. All of a sudden, it nosed down and tailed up and splashed and started exploding the dump.
