New arrivals, H&MS 16, MMAF, 1969
New CH-46s being towed from DaNang harbor to Marble Mountain. About once a month, H&MS 16 folks would bring new off loaded aircraft back to Marble Mountain. Most of us would rather go fly as a door gunner in a helicopter that could fly with a 50 cal. than sit on wrapped up helicopter being towed at 5 mph on back roads in between Marble Mountain and (Deep Water?) DaNang.
Comment by: Joe Howe on Jul 13, 2010 06:42 AM
I was in the hydraulic shop and did this in Jan/Feb 70, I thought, riding high on rear pylon of a refurbed 46-D. what a Trip!!!!!!
