I remember one night at Marble moutain, when on my way back to the houch from the e-club I ran into Capt. Emerson. We had several beers stuffed in our pockets in addition to the ones we were already drinking, when along came the MPs. I don't know what came over us, but when they told us to stand still and wanted to know what was in our pockets, we burst out laughing and hauled ass. Never in your life could picture two drunks trying to outrun a couple of gung-ho jarheads swinging nightclubs. We managed to circle the houch several times in what seemed like sand up to our asss, before the Capt. and I threw up our hands in a hillerious surrender. The MPs were as out of breath as we were. Thanks to the Capt. we stayed out of lock up that night, and this little episode became my fondess memory of him. God bless you Captain, I will never forget you Semper-Fi -Submitted by: Cpl. Allen J.
