A Crewman from HMM-265 15 July 1966

The gunner of a downed CH-46 helicopter staggers to safety after being pinned down by enemy fire near the DMZ. Two other crewman survived the crash that killed 12 Marines and one crewman ( Telfer, Robert Ray Sgt Crew HMM-265 ) from HMM-265.

i was in sgt lucas squadron at this time. i worked with him at new river air station, jacksonville, n.c. prior to shippin out to nam. i was a cpl at this time, he was a E-5 sgt. never saw him again after that happened. what a pic. wow. he was one of the good guys. -Submitted by: larry lewis [ljlchr@hotmail.com] 2008-11-26

This is my Grandfather. Hes shared so many great stories with me over the years. Especially for school projects and so forth. He doesn't like to talk about it unless someone is really going to listen and learn from it. God bless him and other soldiers, lost and still alive. You will never be forgotten.
