I believe that this is the Post Office at White Beach and the pilot was Maj. Bob Nelson. From that day on his call sign has been Post Office Bob. -Submitted by: Arthur B. Colbert [Arthur.Colbert@gmail.com] 2006-08-17

Affectionately known as. Yes maybe but. Then Major Nelson was a highly skilled and a fantastic pilot. Please trust me on this one, Nelson was my C.O. in 261 at New River, my X.O. at Phu Bai with HMM 164 and once climbed in my face when I had a mind phase on a Check flight and forgot an essential in flight emergency safety procedure. He was a FIJI, a fantastic pilot and a damn good Marine Officer. I will forever be grateful to have made his acquaintance. ... and I wasn't paid a penny to make this statement. -Submitted by: Charles Nowotny [cnowotny@msn.com] 2010-06-02
