I was Lance CPL Douglas Sims with HMM-163 from late 68 to early 70. I was in the Sheet metal shop and may have done the eyes. -Submitted by: Douglas Sims [doug.sims@Comcast.net] 2006-09-06

I was cpl jerry serin crew chief of yp12 from the time i picked the aircraft up in philadelphia pa until my release from active duty on oct 5 1969. I had many happy times flying in HMM 163 at Santa Ana during that period. -Submitted by: jerry serin [longhare47@yahoo.com] 2006-11-09

I e-mailed earlier today Dont know if it went threw Was at work I crewed this helicopter YP-20 !56445 starting in Jan of 1971 after returning from Viet Nam. Also in 1971 while taking off the aft rotor head to get new PV (pitch varying) seals the crane failed and the handle started spinning and it hit me in the side. It took fifty four stiches to close me up I continued to serve in HMM163 threw out the 1970s I retired as a 6119 maint chief in 1993 and flew as crew chief all the way up to the day I retired. Would love to hear from any old squardon member. Doug Sims, Do you remember Curt Culbertson from the Metal Shop at that time? He was a good friend of mine, sadly, died in 1976... -Submitted by: Joe Reed [streetrodjoe@gmail.com] 2010-12-08
