I was in -161 with Bob and when he was transferred to the MAG-39 Group HQ to work in the Operations department as a mission assignment officer (we called them fraggers), I took over his job as HMM-161s Aircraft Maintenance Officer. Though Bob was a member of the Group staff, he continued to bunk in the -161 heavy hooch with the other 161 Majors. A welcome contributor to our hooch, Bob was extremely well liked and respected and tons of fun His passing is a personal sorrow for me as I considered him a close friend. -Submitted by: James (Jim) Loop [jimloop35@aol.com] 2006-03-01
