Dear fellow Marine: I served with SgtMaj Fred Douglass. A common mistake over the years has been the incorrect spelling of his last name. Its DOUGLASS. I think of him often and visited his grave in Bourne, MA last year. With whats going on in Lebanon right now, all those Marines who lost their lives on Oct. 23, 1983 are in the news once again. If the Marine Corps had been allowed to finish the job in 1983, perhaps the current situation could have been avoided.
