The man on the right is my father, Lyle Noonan. It was a very hard time for him. Just as it was for many men. I am very proud of this picture. Before my father passed away in 2005, there was not much he had accomplished in his life. Vietnam took quite a toll on my father and tramatized him severely. It was a war that never should have been but was. I am proud that my father fought for this country. -Submitted by: Amanda Noonan [noonan_amanda@hotmail.com] 2006-06-25

does any one know the name of the radioman in the picture? My father has just passed away, he never talked about his past, but i came across some letters. He was part of K Co. 3/4, in dong ha from july 66 to march 17th 67, as he would call it....his dead day he was wounded out on a patrol. His name was Fred Mettlach. The Marine in the pic looks like him but i am not sure. -Submitted by: Dana Corcoran [danacorcoran@aol.com] 2009-09-25

This pic is not from Hill 484. It was taken near the DMZ on 11Oct66. The people in the photo are: left front Ron Hoole, right front Tom Jimenez, left rear Terry Conner, right rear Rick Holloway. The one they are carrying is Leland Hammond. He was my Fireteam Leader and died in my arms. I hope this clears up some of the confusion. -Submitted by: keith d wright [kyuggus@aol.com] 2010-09-18
