This look like Deep Water Piers where I worked from Sept. 68 to Nov. 69. The 2 piers on the left were regular piers and the third one on the right was a floating pier. Directly behind them is the staging area. -Submitted by: George Vogel [gcv102348@yahoo.com] 2009-09-12

The third pier (on the right) is a DeLong pier, which is in effect a very large pier shaped barge with support columns that engage the bottom and support the pier at a useful height. It was towed to Danang, and then raised and supported in position by the columns. It left with the navy. -Submitted by: Wayne Lovercheck [waynecheck@juno.com] 2009-09-25
