Was this pic taken off of the Valley Forge? If so we were off loading to either Marble or Phu Bai. I was on the next bird to lift off. -Submitted by: James Delia [delia2620@bellsouth.net] 2008-10-31

Your time span for this incident must be right because that was the same time span I was with the squadron. If it is the incident I'm thinking of Tony Barboza was the cc not sure who the gunner was and will never remember who the pilots were. When they come back aboard I remember they each got one of those little bottle shots of whiskey like the airlines used to give. Now days I seem to remember a lot more faces than I do names. Pilot was Lt Connery, Copilot Lt Perine, Gunner was LCpl Schafer. And yep, the Crew Chief was LCpl Barboza. It also was YT8. Randy Little ditched in YT5 in 68. Semper Fi -Submitted by: Carl Gardner [autoquip1@aol.com] 2009-07-10

I was stationed with Carl in 68-69 VN, in HMM-164. I have a great picture of a sign we made for our Metal Shop! -Submitted by: mike lawton [magnitude@bellsouth.net] 2011-08-05
