Visions - A Personal Perspective

Photo #10
Last landing, Swift 2-2

This picture was taken after "Swift 2-2" landed on the USS Hancock (CV-19) after rescuing Major Kean and his 10 Marine Security forces from the roof top of the American embassy in Saigon. Major Kean and his men were dropped off on the USS Okinawa.
There are no words that I can say to fully explain the feelings onboard the Hancock during Frequent Wind. I made the last two WestPacs on the old boat and retired from the Navy in 1987. April of '75 though will always mean more to me than any other period in my Naval career. I just wish that none of us had to live it. Dallas Miley AT1 USN Ret. vf24cv19@sbcglobal.net
