I was in the Seabees (MCB10) and we built these two story hooches in 1967. We also built the new Marine Headquarters in Phu Bia. We were pulled off this job and sent North to Cam Lo to build under ground bunkers for the Marines there. These were built out of 12x12 timbers and then covered with tar paper and then backed filled. The picture brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for sharing. B Co, 2nd Plt. George (Can Do) -Submitted by: George Stalnaker [no1safety@aol.com] 2011-07-31

And three weeks later, we got our mortar attack where, fortunately, none exploded - BUT - right in the middle of the doorway of the sandbag bunker sat an unexploded 122 - yup - we almost shat right there. -Submitted by: Wesley Westphal [fstwarrior@q.com] 2010-04-22
