  • Capt Nelson Shinnick, VMO-2, 1967

I have learned today that Nelson Shinnick, (Capt VMO-2 1967-8) has requested that he be released to Hospice Care on September 10th after an extensive battle with cancer. His wife, Lynn, has indicated that he is with his family for the duration. We will miss him - he has been an integral part of our squadron at our reunions since Vietnam. The words SAEPE EXPERTUS, SEMPER FIDELIS, FRATRES AETERNI certainly apply to Nelson.

I just can't seem to say the right thing at times like these but I wanted you to know Nelson that I always looked forward to reminiscing with you at our reunions.
