It was 28* here in the warm, sunny South this morning! No precip and a bit breezy. Tree limbs that were blown down are too wet to burn…
Watched some good football yesterday. Interesting AFC and NFC Championship games coming up!!
Have a great week Marines. Stay healthy and safe!!

You’re right about that Joe. They were all much better than expected and kept you there to the end.
28 and another dusting, definitely January in Western PA. Looking forward to a drive to my son in FL but various appointments will be keeping us here until the last of February.

Slick, thanks for the explanation. That is why Joe didn’t see Mike’s “reply” to him as there were several after it that went to the top and pushed Mike’s down the page. I wondered about the new design, on the old one you saw the latest at the bottom of the page right above the space to put your next one. The scroll to the bottom is now getting longer each day.
Should we just hit “reply” like jardo47 and have the page going down instead of up ??????

      • #2564
        JoeReed

Well I’ll try hitting reply at the top and see how it goes. Still getting used to this set up, but it seems to be working pretty well.
Second day in a row with SUN!! High going to the mid 50s!! I can used to this “winter” weather! Almost warm enough to paint!!

I hit the “reply” on Joe’s last one telling us how nice 50 degrees feels.
We’re in for some more winter for the coming week.
I’m going to close out and see if there is still a “health” topic place.

      All,
We’re working on revising the NOTAM board.
As you can see Wally has added categories and sub-forums in what I believe is a simpler/encompassing format.

To try and answer Dale’s question about where post actually show up, my non-IT explanation is:

If you want to reply to a post then as hit the “reply” button on the top right of the post.

If you want to do a completely new post, then scroll to the bottom and “reply to what’s happening.”

And that’s from someone who in their 1st life was a 6242.

Have my “northern” grandkids here for a week. they’re down from Wisconsin. # 2 sons crew and he’s already here.

Dale, sorry your Steelers didn’t look as good as they have most of the year, but Cleveland was lights out on the ball all night!! Wish Tennessee could’ve hung in here a little better and Washington could’ve won.
      Good games this weekend.
Rain finally left and we have sunshine again for most of the days ahead. Maybe I can get stuff cleaned up.
Have the gates up n the front porch. Now to paint the whole thing!! Gotta be warmer for that1

      Good morning Marines!
Low 20s in Georgia today but the orange thing is is the sky and promises to warm us to the low 40s!! Yay!
Even with my replacement knees and back parts, I still have these bad feet and ankles. I’ll never see a long
walk. but I can still get my work around the house done okay for the most part. Since walking has always been painful, I certainly don’t miss it, but I’m glad you folks are enjoying it.
The twidget got the outlet working after a time so now the Christmas lights will work!! Maybe next year….
Dale, my kidney/bladder cancer could’ve been attributed to AO or the Lejeune water contamination, but they chose to blame it on the latter. Feel better Grandpappy Amos!
Jardo, glad to see you’re getting around very well!! The Cardiologist will be pleased I’ll bet!

22 but there is something strange in the sky out there – kinda bright and hard to look at.

Off to see this LHI outfit this morning. Everyone has said to get on the AO registry so I asked at several places and told not here – call there where they said not here – call there – leave message – no reply so I sent in some heart and kidney doctor reports and bang – all of a sudden I’m scheduled for a C&P
Don’t know what to expect – no – actually I do expect the normal denial…

30 and not going much more than that with a light dusting and socked in clouds. It has to be at least a week since we’ve seen sun.
Don’t know what HADIT is Slick, but this LHI is contracted by the VA to do C&P exams.
Did I tell you about them sending my BVA Remanded claim for my back to an ob/gyn in Texas for medical opinion?
Naturally he denied any connection. What was interesting was he started off saying – “veteran states he was in helicopter crash, although there a no records reflecting this event”. WTFFFFFFFF!
So I sent him a letter asking for the records he was given to make his decision since he obviously didn’t have a complete file. I included the 1969 statements of the Pilot – the co-Pilot – the award recommendation form with narrative from the Pilot – the official bronze star citation – my 2010 recollection story THERE I WAS that was written before I got the previous statements with my records from St. Louis in 2015 and the 2012 buddy statement from the co-Pilot. I told him these would give him an understanding of just what happened that day.
Naturally I haven’t heard squat – so my opinion on LHI is also squat.

I did the garbage and recycling cans to the bottom of the driveway for my exercise yesterday. It was first time since operation and better than before operation. Six week check with back surgeon this morning. I am so much better than when I could barely stand the pain at two weeks. Haven’t needed any dope for about a week and a half but I still need a cane to keep my left butt from buckling. I hope it just needs more time. 40 but dropping back into the 30’s with a dusting tonight so I am going to venture out for some excitement – like Walgreen for a new cane tip. This one has the metal poking through and it will slip out on me which causes more excitement than I want.

      JoeReed

      Dale,
Hope that left leg gets stronger and more stable.
Ate too much around here too, but we went to my son’s place where he fixed up a huge “low country boil”. For those that may not know it’s a dish originated around the low country near Charleston, S. C. Has a lot of blue crab, snow crab legs, shrimp, smoked sausage, corn cobs, potatoes and various other things cooked in a large pot over an open fire. VERY good, albeit not traditional. We had the turkey, etc. for thanksgiving so none of us missed it.

No rest yet Joe, I see Wally is anxious and already put “Happy New Year” on the home page.
I need the food around here to disappear also – especially from my gut.
This seven months of hobbling around on a cane and sitting around eating has done me in. I was hoping I would be able to lose the cane when I see the surgeon on Wednesday but when I try to walk without it my left leg just won’t hold me upright.

Wally, 1924 detached garage with original slate roof that was holding up until hail storm last year so I had a metal roof put on last summer. The 10 inches compressed down with the warm-up and started sliding, I got the shot just before it broke off.

mid-upper 20s here last night but clear. Made it to 50 this afternoon.
      Jardo,
Ill just bet there was a time when you were the one doing the helping! Payback isn’t always a
      bad thing!

      Wally,
I don’t have my avatar either. My old one was the three HMM-165 CH-46As flying over Ky Ha with YW 11
being the nearest bird. Maybe it’s in there someplace. Are there some instructions someplace to walk us through that process?
      Thanks!

We got about a foot. My neighbors came over and did my driveway.
I feel so guilty watching someone else do work and me watching

Another night without nerve pain in my leg waking me up, and I didn’t take pain pill after dinner.
Stairs were easier this morning too, now I just have to remember the pain and be very careful for awhile.

Take more gabapentin. 300mg twice a day might get you started on feeling better. That’s what I think, but you know I’m NOT an MD. LOL! Still not seeing the avatar link…..
Mid 30s and rain here, highs in the lower 40s supposed to be drying up….. Hate you folks are struggling with all the snow…

Lot more snow than they were calling for. As soon as it gets light and I get Bev outside for an official depth I’ll let you know. TV says 9.4 at airport and says 12 in neighborhood six miles away. East of us in central PA is where they were calling for the most.
I have to say I did have a much better sleep last night as the leg didn’t wake me up. That is news!

We’re expecting over a foot of snow in Connecticut. The fun begins!

Thanks Wally, I’ll wait awhile before putting up regular one.
Nor’easter coming and we’re in the six inch band but I’m not worried since I got Bev checked out on the snowblower a couple weeks ago. I’ll just have to supervise from inside with a coffee.
