I am trying to find out what dates mmaf received incoming rockets or mortars between early July 1969 and Dec 1969. I remember vividly the Aug 19 attack when doc Beckman was killed but it seems there were others in this time frame.

There was a rocket attack late Dec. 1969 after Christmas, and before New Years. Do not recall exact day. The rockets were long, and hit off shore. I don't think any hit the air base, but it woke everyone up.

While there were a few attacks, the only KIAs from those attacks for your dates are 690819

I got in country in Sept. and sickbay was still smoking. The long rounds took out the windows of the E-club and put holes in the movie screen.

Mortar Attack Dec 69 MMAF
I remember a mortar attack in late December 69. I remember it because I was just back from R&R in Australia and upon my return learned that VMO-2 would soon give its Cobras to HML-367 and we had at the time two command groups (two Co's and two XO's)
I was the duty officer that night - in the squadron hanger/ready room. The attack came and the troops were called out to man the fighting holes in case it was a prep for a ground/sapper attack.
