This morning I recieved the news that Sgt. Rick Gebel past away last night due to heart attack. Funeral will be in East Islip, Long Island, New York,date unknown at this time. One of the great crew chiefs of HMM 363. I will miss
dearly. Semper Fi Rick.

Rick was truly a great crew chief on the old 34 Dog. I just spoke with him recently about attending our 363 Gathering in September. He was looking forward to seeing his old friends and of course, sharing his sea stories with us. He will be sadly missed but we shall crack one open for him and remember him for the super person that he was.
