I was flying as a gunner (HMM-263) on a medevac mission to Barrier Island in August of 1969. Our close air support (OV-10 and a Cobra) strafed the Marines who called for an emergency medevac. We ended up waiting for quite awhile before the new casualties were ready to be taken out. Does anybody know any more details about this mission?
