The USMC Helicopter Support in Vietnam Congressional Gold Medal Act, House Bill H.R. 5939 was introduced into Congress by Congressman Don Davis, 1st District, NC. and Congressman Greg Murphy, 3rd District, NC
Bill H.R.5939 recognizes the bravery, dedication, hard work, loyalty, sacrifice as well as the “can-do spirit” of the approximately 25.000 Marine Helicopter, Marine Observation squadrons and Naval personnel (Corpsmen, Docs, and Chaplains) who served in Marine Air Groups 16, 36 and Provisional MAG-39 in support of the roughly 360,000 Marines in South Vietnam from 15 April 62 – 30 April 75.
What we ask is for you to contact your state representatives and ask them to support H.R. 5939.
Once the Bill gets through the House of Representatives, we will ask for the same effort be requested of your state senators,
