Good morning,

I don't know if you're able, let alone willing, to help me out.  I've been trying for a few years now and have gotten very little information.  

SSGT Gary L Ruhf, USMC was my father.  He passed away in October 2020.  We were not what anyone would call close.  I've been trying to understand him and what he went through.  When he talked about his time in the Marine Corps, it was basic information with no details I could use to research anything further.  I do know he was in Vietnam and I know he was Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 262 (HMM-262) for at least a short time.  He was stationed in Hawaii for a while and then Texas before he retired.

Anyway, my purpose for writing today is that I hope you are able and willing or know of a direction to talk to someone that is, to find someone that served with my dad.  He enlisted 4/14/69 and was formally, honorably and medically discharged 4/30/74.
