Received from his son.

To my Marine Corps brothers, it's with a heavy heart that I have to announce that my old man, James P. Citrano Sr., passed away the evening of August 26th .  He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.  He was a fighter his whole life, his old man passed when he was only four, his mother when he was 20.  The deck was stacked against him, but he fought and pushed through.  He put himself though College while playing football.  He was inspired by JFKs call to service message and  enrolled in the Marine Corps PLC program.  He was commissioned and fought in Vietnam from December 1967 to January 1969, the most kinetic time of the war.  He flew assault support in some of the toughest combat the Marines ever saw to include the battle of Hue City and the siege at Khe Sanh.  He was fighting up until the end, it was a good death, a warrior's death.  We are comforted knowing he is with our Heavenly Father now.  He just reported in and is guarding the streets of Heaven with all of the other former Marines.  There is a spot at the O club bar reserved for him when he gets off duty  with a 20 year old bottle of Glenlivet single malt Scotch, and there's sure to be some good ball busting with the Navy.

Semper Fi Pop, gone but not forgotten.
