I was one of 4 emergency med-evacs thrown onto a 34 piloted by Henry Eisenson, 3000 meters NE of Con Thien, above the "trace" on 1/18/68.

Although blind at the time I could hear the bird being torn apart in the very hot LZ. After gaining altitude it suddenly got very quiet. One of the crew advised in colorful terms that we were transferring from flight to free fall. The crash was an experience I won't forget. Woke up being dragged out then passed out again.

I talked with LtCol Eisenson back in the '90's, but if there are any members of that crew on your site, I would like to make contact with them also.

First, to thank them and second to find out more about that e ticket ride:-)

I was later told that the 34 I was on, was the oldest still flying at the time and that there was some crew casualties.

Thank you for having the balls to come into a very hot LZ to pick up myself and my fellow Marines. I suspect, it was just another day a the office for you guys. But THANK YOU!
