So far, I have identified the following corpsman/flight surgeons that have signed-up for Reunion 2008:

Barrett, Steve HMM-364, HMM-262, HMM-263
Basham, Alan HMM-262, MAG-16
Deneff, Danny HMM-364
Hanson, Stephanie HMM-364
Kickham, John MAG-16
LeFevre, Les MD HMM-163, VMO-6
Levin, Alan MD HMM-265
Mead, Anthony HMM-364
Mitchell, James 5th & 7th Marines

If anyone knows of any others, please let me know ASAP.

Like the Marines, we are always looking for a few good men – the Doc’s!
Because we register with our primary squadrons, we are difficult to find at the reunions! Please, after you have registered, stop by the SNAFU desk, fill out a locator sheet and leave it in the blue “Docs” binder. This sheet will tell us which Doc’s and Flight Surgeons are at the reunion and will enable us (and anyone looking for you) to contact you at the reunion.

Several reunions ago, we decided to set-up a social gathering for the Doc’s and their guests; something that would not interfere with the myriad of squadron and other reunion activities. Most of us don’t come in until Thursday and leave on Sunday. Accordingly, we selected breakfast on Saturday and it’s been working well ever since. However, this year, because on the 8th & I Parade on Friday and the Memorial at the Wall on Sat, breakfast won’t work. And, because of squadron lunches and dinners on Friday, the only slot left for “hospital food” is Thursday evening. If you would like to join the other Doc’s and their guests for dinner on Thursday please let we know and indicate it on the “Doc” locator sheet. Based on the response, we’ll select the place and time.

Lastly, we plan the offer Flying Doc T-shirts. They will be heather gray with navy blue printing. On the front, a small caduceus and the word “Doc”. And, on the back, a large ”Snoopy” with the words “This medevac courtesy of” on the top and “MAG-16 Flying Docs” on the bottom (kinda’ like our cards!). To keep the price down, my vendor is donating the art work and the set-up fee. Based on an order of 20 shirts, prices will be as follows: S-XL $12, XXL $14 and XXXL $16. Still checking on availability for XXXXL. Have sizes for Kickham and Mead. Need sizes and quantities for everyone else.

FYI, I will be getting in around 7:30pm on Tuesday, Aug 12, During the reunion, my “hooch” will be in the Hilton (202) 483-3000 and you will be able to reach me on my cell phone (630) 751-9577.

Until then, if you need anything, call me at (630) 554-6997 or email me at devildoc@ameritech.net. Semper Fi
