Received from Dawn Beuster-Sparger:

My brother was CPL Ronald L Beuster. I was 7yrs old when his helicopter went down in the vicinity of KyHa Quang Tin Province Repulbic of Vietnam. He was in YZ-86. Did you know him? Can you help me in finding someone who might have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ron Buester

Ira Ramsey and I are probably the only two ground eyewitnesses to the crash at Ky Ha. We were both doing early morning guard duty in the bunker at the end of the takeoff area just north of our flightline when it happened during an early morning mass launch.
I can't make Ft Worth this week and am not sure if Ira will be there, but pass this message along to him and I am sure he will contact Dawn, as will I. There is a picture of Ron aboard ship on this site (I believe it is in the HMM-163 archives). Talk this around at Ft Worth and also pass it on to the 163 folks (assuming that was Ron's prior squadron). I'm sure we can help this young lady learn more about her brother, and ours.

CPL Ronald L Beuster

Thanks,

She will be watching the thread so any information you post she should get. If she doesn't contact you, I see you said that you would contact her.

Thanks again

Ron Beuster

Brook,

I have communicated with Dawn and promised her that she would hear from squadron mates of Cpl Ron Beuster. Photo #27 in the Visions section confirms that Ron was with HMM-163 in the 1965-1966 time frame (don't know when he came to HMM-363). Could you post her request under HMM-163, as well, to give members from that squadron a heads up?

I see your photo with squadron coordinators prepping the zone for the reunion. Is that iced tea Tripper is drinking?

Have a ball & I hope to meet you at the next gaggle. Lowell Johnson

Ron Beuster KIA 02/66

Does the name Ron Stoud (or anything similar) sound familiar? One of the Beuster family members recalls a Marine visiting the family some ten years or more ago. Any info will help Dawn.

Also, anyone who recalls Ron Beuster should e-mail Dawn at the address at the start of this thread. Any little bit of info is beneficial in helping her get to know her brother. Several of the HMM-163 members who knew him before they deployed to Vietnam have contacted her and she is very appreciative of the help they have given her. Thanks.
