I am the son of Sgt Raymond W. Schellinger, HMM-362 Avionics, May 1968 – June 1969, including the SLF Alpha embarkation aboard USS Okinawa. My father passed in 2023, and our family is preserving his papers and artifacts from the tour.

Among them is his own copy of the DOD Tactical Aerodrome Directory, South Vietnam, 15 April 1969 — the one the cover orders you to destroy when superseded. He kept it. Across the top, in heavy marker, he wrote his aircraft: YK-25.

I am hoping the Ugly Angels community can help with two things:

1. The bureau number carried by YK-25 in the spring of 1969.

2. Anyone who crewed, maintained, or flew YK-25 — or who remembers Sgt Schellinger in Avionics — and is willing to share what they recall.
