Anyone interested, the entire crew of Bu# 150960 UYT-13

https://www.popasmoke.com/kia/incidents.php?incident_id=172

Lerman, Conrad Cpl Gunner

Templeton, Raymond Woodrow Sgt Crew Chief HMM-164

Zamorski, Glenn John 1stLt Pilot HMM-164

Dan Jones Lt. Co-Pilot HMM-164 (survived)

None of these men, KIA or wounded were ever awarded a Purple Heart for that day's Friendly Fire Incident, labeled a misadventure by the Marine Corps.

I and some others have been working to correct this egregious error for some time now. It seems that we are finally getting some attention and there could be a change in the situation in the near future.

I've contacted the son of Conrad Lerman "Gary" and the brother of Ray "Woodie" Templeton James Douglas Templeton and have alerted them to the possibility of something happening and soon. Others have been tasked with contacting the younger brother of Lt Zamorski, "John".

Anyone interested in following our progress or aiding and abetting our cause, please advise,

Mission Accomplished.

I received word that the Purple Hearts for the crew and pilots were finally and actually approved by the Awards Board after 46 years of waiting. 46, the magic number.
